Alana practices in the area of general civil litigation with an emphasis in employment law, public employment litigation, civil rights litigation, constitutional law and appellate practice. Prior to law school, Alana gained insight into the human resources side of employment law by working in Human Resources for a large manufacturer with offices worldwide. She brings this practical experience to her legal practice as she works to protect the interests of employers inside and outside the courtroom. When not in the courtroom, Alana counsels employers on a variety of employment law issues including hiring/firing of employees, employee handbooks, EEOC compliance, sexual harassment training and Department of Labor audits. She also has extensive experience successfully representing defendants in jury trials in both state and federal court and currently serves as a Special Assistant Attorney General, a role in which she is appointed to represent various public employers in complex employment litigation.
