David E. Hudson Quoted in the Article, “Redacted Passages Leave Some Questions in Expedia Case”

David E. Hudson, general counsel for the Georgia Press Association, recently was asked to comment on the reluctance of the city of Columbus to release under the Open Records Act a contract with a local law firm suing the online travel company Expedia over lodging taxes. In the article Mr. Hudson notes exceptions to the Open Records statute based on attorney-client privilege “to the extent that a record pertains to the requesting or giving of legal advice or the disclosure of facts concerning or pertaining to pending or potential litigation.”
