David E. Hudson Points To Changes to the Open Records Law

In the Douglas County Sentinel article “E911 Official: Limit Call Access,” Mr. Hudson comments on the issue of advocating this legislative session for limiting “traumatic calls involving real-time suffering, real-time trauma, labor breathing, screams for mercy, pleas for help from the news media outlets.” Mr. Hudson noted that changes to the Open Records law last year keeps materials like calls and documents open to the public except when nondisclosure is “necessary to prevent the disclosure of the identity of a confidential source, to prevent disclosure of material which would endanger life or the safety of any person, or to prevent disclosure of a confidential surveillance or investigation.”
