Recently, an internal Yahoo! memo authored by Human Resources Head Jackie Reses put a June expiration date on work-at-home arrangements. The memo proclaimed that “[t]o become the absolute best place to work, communication and collaboration will be important, so we need to be working side-by-side. … Speed and quality are often sacrificed when we work from home. We need to be one Yahoo!, and that starts with physically being together.” This memo has caused employers across the country to talk about remote work arrangements and review work-at-home policies.
