We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support attorneys with transactional legal work. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role and possess strong administrative, communication, and multitasking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing, proofreading, and organizing legal documents and correspondence.
  • Manage client communications, including scheduling meetings, handling inquiries, and maintaining client files.

Job Summary

A regional law firm with offices in the CSRA, is seeking a full-time Legal Technology & IT Support Specialist.

This newly created position will serve as the firm’s primary internal resource for day-to-day technology support while also assisting attorneys and legal teams with technology-related needs arising in client matters. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver who can provide responsive user support, troubleshoot legal and business applications, coordinate with outside technology providers, and help the firm use technology more effectively.

This position will work closely with firm leadership, attorneys, staff, and outside vendors. It is well suited for an experienced IT support professional who enjoys taking ownership of problems and is interested in developing expertise in law-firm technology, document management, litigation support, cybersecurity, and legal artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for technology questions and support requests from attorneys and staff, tracking issues through resolution or appropriate escalation.

Diagnose and resolve issues involving computers, monitors, printers, scanners, mobile devices, conference-room equipment, and other office technology.

Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, Copilot and other AI solutions.

Support the firm’s document-management and legal applications, including iManage Work, iManage Drive, iManage Share, Tungsten Power PDF, Litera Compare, Juris, Qualia, and related integrations.

Manage employee technology onboarding and offboarding, including equipment, accounts, permissions, access removal, information preservation, and recovery of firm property.

Manage routine user-account, password, permission, and software-installation requests.

Maintain an accurate inventory of computers, devices, software licenses, and related technology assets.

Document recurring issues, resolutions, system configurations, and internal procedures, and work with vendors to identify and address root causes.

Develop plain-language technology instructions and provide training to attorneys and staff.

Coordinate with the firm’s outside technology, hosting, software, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and other service providers.

Assist firm leadership with evaluating software, hardware, security tools, artificial-intelligence products, and emerging legal technologies.

Support the firm’s cybersecurity policies and procedures, including multifactor authentication, access controls, software updates, phishing awareness, and incident response.

Help manage large collections of client documents, emails, records, photographs, audio, video, and other electronic evidence, including organization, numbering, indexing, quality control, and secure transfer for document productions.

Coordinate with outside e-discovery, digital-forensics, trial-technology, and litigation-support providers.

Assist with the preparation and organization of deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial exhibits.

Set up and troubleshoot technology used during depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.

Help attorneys use document-analysis, legal-research, artificial-intelligence, and collaboration tools appropriately and efficiently.

Maintain confidentiality, security, and appropriate documentation when handling client information and electronic evidence.

Recognize when a matter requires specialized forensic, cybersecurity, or e-discovery expertise and coordinate with qualified outside providers.

Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Copilot.

Strong troubleshooting skills supporting Microsoft Windows workstations, printers, scanners, mobile devices, conference-room technology, and related hardware.

Working knowledge of user account administration, permissions, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), multifactor authentication (MFA), and Microsoft 365 administration.

Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, wireless networking, and internet connectivity sufficient to diagnose issues and coordinate with outside technology providers.

Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including endpoint security, phishing prevention, access controls, software updates, and incident response.

Experience with help desk systems for ticket management; excellent customer service skills combined with clear communication abilities.

Hands-on experience supporting IT infrastructure components like firewalls (e.g., Meraki), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), TCP protocols; knowledge of network security best practices.

Ability to troubleshoot network issues including connectivity problems using tools or other incident tracking platforms.

Demonstrated ability to analyze technical issues, identify root causes, document solutions, and recommend process improvements.

Preferences

Experience supporting law firms or other professional services organizations.

Experience with iManage Work, Juris, Qualia, Litera, Tungsten Power PDF, or similar legal technology platforms.

Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Copilot, and cloud-based collaboration tools.

Experience coordinating technology projects and software implementations.

Experience working with managed IT providers and cloud-hosted environments.
